Sunday Movie: SENSELESS

"Good afternoon! Freshmen, freshwomen and people of freshness..." That's how Darryl (Marlon Wayans of The Wayans Brothers) opens up this classic comedy from 1998.

"Darryl Witherspoon is an underprivileged college student with yuppie aspirations, and he's game for any fund-raising scheme that will help his family and further his education. Having taken every possible route, from donating bodily fluids to working at a campus salad bar, he arrives at the point of playing guinea pig for a research scientist (Brad Dourif). In the interests of neuropsychology, this professor gives Darryl a potion that enhances some of his senses but not all of them. The drug's effects vary dramatically with its dosage. Sometimes Darryl is hopelessly stoned. Sometimes he's revved-up and able to hear whispered conversations and read newsprint halfway across the room.

Complicating all this are subplots about a clean-cut girlfriend (Tamara Taylor), a sweetly dim roommate with a weakness for body-piercing (Matthew Lillard of ''Scream'') and the irritating white fraternity boys who condescend to Darryl."

-Janet Maslin (The New York Times, February 20, 1998)

Blir det bare Wayans Brothers eller? Hva med Chris Rock eller Chris Tucker eller noe?
