The Foreign Exchange ft. Darien Brockington - Take Off The Blues

I've loved The Foreign Exchange since I found theyre first album sampler in a little vynil store here in Oslo 4 or 5 years ago. They have a new video out to promote theyre latest album Leave it All Behind released in the end of 2008 that you can buy HERE. It's great to hear Phonte explore his singing more in opposite to the last album where he was mostly rapping, and he delivers such a performance that you'd think he was a Soul singer and not an MC, yes it's that good! An amazing experimental R&B/Soul masterpiece with subtile Hip Hop elements that manages to relax and inspire the mind of even the worse workaholic haunted by busy days and no time to eat (whoever that may be).

Check some of the reviews of the album if your still not convinced:

"These sorts of projects too often inspire catcalls to keep a day job, but the Foreign Exchange may have just earned an unexpected promotion. " -Pitchfork

"Leave It All Behind is beautiful music." -The Find Magazine

"Leave It All Behind can't be recommended highly enough and deserves to be considered one of the year's best releases, regardless of genre." -Textura

"This talented duo has made one hell of an album, actually one of the best of 2008." -PopMatters

"'''Leave it All Behind' is more than an experiment but a work that stretches the possibilities of good music and makes people forget about the purpose of genres." -The Couch Sessions

"Leave it All Behind is grown people music of the highest order." -Planet Urban

"With electronic and live sounds, emotional production and excellent vocals from some of the underground scene's best, Leave It All Behind is an open and experimental take on hip-hop and soul, highly successful, at that." -Prefix
